    Hello sweetness !

used to be that flutelady and I were pretty much the only regulars, with drop ins from a few others. Have no idea how any rumor got started about shutting down.

I’ve backed off from posting, as I have so much to do in my actual life I no longer could give this place my time and attention.

Hope all are well and having a decent and pleasant time weatherwise and otherwise.

  • 06:13:29 pm on March 15, 2017 | 0 | # |

hello again, stopped in to make sure you got my message.

flute, you got a message, but apparently you got the wrong message.

this is not about you. This is about what I need to do for myself.

and since my little dog is making that noise right now, off I must go. Be good! :)

  • 01:03:03 pm on March 15, 2017 | 0 | # |

    good afternoons.

I just came in to tell you I won’t be coming in any more. Every moment I spend in here is time I don’t have to spend on the things I want to be doing for my health, my creativity, my dog, my real life. So while I won’t be deleting my account, I won’t be checking in.

flute, if there’s an emergency, you have my email.

Have a great year, a great life, everyone !

    *foop*

a civil suit might make the policemen personally responsible …

mmmm chinese! but I have a ton of veg and some freshly cooked chicken, AND pot roast, in the fridge, which I will now go clean. The fridge, that is.

  • 02:14:49 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

sometimes police do get out of control, ya think?

I hope the wife sues their pants off, with the pants pockets full of money.

there will not be any lessening of this problem under the current administration.

and all I have to say now is that I am cold, and hungry, and it’s time to clean the fridge. And have lunch. ;)

    see ya.

You can go ahead and tell Pam to come back, if she’s inclined. I’m not going to be here much. :)

  • 02:07:39 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

the chicken lady is the daughter?

    well, I gots no advice.

  • 01:57:13 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

    don’t know what to say.

I didn’t realize you had to take a detour … is this because of the chicken lady?

  • 01:50:10 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

have there been further incidents, flute ?

  • 01:43:05 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

yeah, I’ve known it ever since I did it, and I have never regretted or rethought doing it.

as for it being an excuse for not coming in here … she may not be the only one. And some people like to wallow in their hurt feelings, and do not know how, or choose not, to speak directly.

  • 01:29:27 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

    flutelady 1:24 PM on March 11, 2017

    what makes you say that?

  • 01:28:35 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

saltd5 made a remark, long before she left, about friending on facebook. A remark about my never accepting her friend request, as I recall. It was about the time I had discovered we could “friend” each other here.

I got far too many ebay people on my facebook profile; truth is, as far as most of them were concerned, we’re not friends as I use the term. Not even acquaintances, really. Just some online history on the q&a

  • 01:24:38 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

    you mean, by me?

  • 01:22:34 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

but that begs the question of who would buy those boats.

    pretty soon, market saturation.

  • 01:19:48 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

and my wide ranging tastes in music, from pop to classical. It’s all a wonder. :)

  • 01:12:55 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

exactly. I don’t discuss my comic/graphic novel collection, or the pictures I collect, or various other things, because I know they are outside the realm of comprehension of most of my family, many of my friends.

My actual friends embrace me as I am, addictions/obsessions and all. Others, not so much. And this includes a lot of people from my high school class, whom I allowed onto my facebook friends list and haven’t yet been culled. I could dump a dozen without blinking if I weren’t concerned with hurting their feelings. :D

  • 01:09:12 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

sorry, that sounded harsh, my remark.

but lately I am very aware of friends’ dismissive remarks about others, including mutual friends …

and I do understand the generation of your remark; I just don’t know if you mean it.

  • 01:06:43 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

do you mean that? why would anyone want to buy a boat?

are you really that dismissive/unaware of other people’s difference in wants and lifestyles from your own ??

  • 01:01:50 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

we were raised to be affluent, those of us in the post war baby boom, because as our parents came out from under the weight of the Depression, WWII, and then the Korean conflict, it was all about prosperity … but then, I am ignorant of much of history and its implications and repercussions, so I could be wrong. Very wrong. Certainly simplistic.

  • 12:44:18 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

it’s not particularly hard; it’s all synonyms and antonyms. I just paced myself and reminded myself of what each of those terms means before I put an answer.

  • 12:41:56 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

well, Democratic control can’t come before the next midterm, in 2018. And the funding cuts are not done.

Evil has taken over the government.

  • 12:36:03 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

no, not an oxymoron. Not as I understand the term … ;)

it’s a synonym, though. If a phrase can be that. Maybe I mean euphemism.

  • 12:32:14 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

yeah, I’m on a donation moratorium. If I make any more donations it will be anonymously, with a money order.

  • 12:31:04 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

    I could quit procrastinating. There’s a thought !! :D

  • 12:30:40 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

I have nothing to quit. Well, the fb games that have been sucking my time and ruining my eyesight, but I’ve blocked them. Must go block them on fluffa’s profile. If I’m not playing she doesn’t care, though, so … :)

  • 12:22:50 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

when last we chatted about it, you hadn’t set a firm date, as I recall.

I offered support. Still stands. You gotta do what is right for you. :)

    How’s mr flute? all recovered?

  • 12:11:21 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

flute, I couldn’t have stayed, even if you had come in while I was here.

I am not sure what to do now … so many choices.

just thinking about it makes me lightheaded.

sounds like you are ready to tell the band goodbye, if you are gathering up your music.

  • 12:08:43 pm on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

and here I am again. Possibly alone …

    greetings to Yardbird. ;)

    howdy, flute

  • 09:07:06 am on March 11, 2017 | 0 | # |

good mornings. Just checking in. Back in a while, don’t know when. Don’t wait up … sorry. :D

  • 12:35:08 pm on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

people are stupid, and that’s the bottom line.

  • 12:31:41 pm on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

flutelady @ 12:23 PM … It will be blamed on the liberals; it’s already being blamed on Obama. Wiretapping, you know. :?: Denial is like black tar, and once it gets in the brain, it’s … well, good luck USofA.

I’m gonna check my coffee supply and hit Kroger. See you later !

  • 12:24:04 pm on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

it’s a weird thing that in many instances, the thing we crave the most is the thing that is worst for us. Sugar, wheat bread, whatever.

Humans can and do eat just about anything. :D Including dirt, if you happen to have pica.

I was never a paste eater in school. There were probably some in my class …

  • 12:22:36 pm on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

well, eating something you know is harmful for your organism is willful and stupid, in my opinion.

dad was on a variety of Rx, some of which meant he should not eat grapefruit. That’s a specific interaction warning.

    didn’t stop him. :D

  • 12:20:38 pm on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

watching the news is an exercise in detachment and compassion anymore.

As I told my brother on the phone last night … just hearing the words “President Trump” makes my brain shut off.

  • 12:10:00 pm on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

list is completed. I think I’ll hang out for another few minutes and then go run errands …

  • 11:57:35 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

I have had to become more watchful about what I eat raw … Salads are so easy, but kale, cabbage, broccoli are off my “raw is good” list. Just my personal body/digestion/energy system.

so I just bypass the “kale salad” mixes … they look so good, though. :D

  • 11:51:22 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

I’m going through my Kroger coupons.

There’s something oxymoronic about “organic lunchmeat.”

  • 11:47:38 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

Embarking on this new PT series is going to be part of a lifestyle change for me. I don’t know what part online chatting will play.

I have a book or two to write, too. We’ll see how it goes … :)

  • 11:45:23 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

Oh, I just turned the brightness down on my screen and you know what? it’s a little easier on my eyes now. Whaddya know !!

  • 11:43:30 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

wasn’t there a new appliance of some kind you needed? A/C, furnace, something?

“I got your money back, so let’s put it to good use, okay?” ?

  • 11:37:14 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings. So I’ll go from Munchkin Morning Care to my PT and then I don’t know when I’ll be in. Last appt is scheduled for May 3.

And I just scheduled with a new eye care doctor, because the computer is causing vision problems for me. I need new scrips, and we’ll see what else.

my doctor’s office called, too; apparently it’s time to go see HER again. I’d rather not. :D

  • 11:22:34 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

    Hi yardbird!

good for you, flute. I hope mr flute will really appreciate this !

  • 11:02:03 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

Damn, I take it back. Kim actually did what I had asked for in re my schedule, and then called me back to tell me. I take it back. And now I’m going to go delete most of that post, so you won’t know what I’m talking about. Ha! :D

  • 10:54:54 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

I’ll check in from time to time. Making a shopping list.

had a brief phone encounter with the receptionist/scheduler at my new PT location. I had asked for a reassignment of therapist, and she said she couldn’t do it … Ah well. Let the PT continue. Monday. M,W,F for 8 weeks.

  • 10:38:59 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

sorry I missed you again, flute. I came in and then went on with my normal morning routine, starting with Munch’s breakfast …

  • 08:58:58 am on March 10, 2017 | 0 | # |

good mornings ! unexpected rain this morning. Just a drizzle at the moment.

  • 05:43:28 pm on March 9, 2017 | 0 | # |

this was my double appt day.

    good afternoons !

I’ll try to get in earlier tomorrows.

    see yuz!

  • 05:59:34 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

well, I have had to do so many new things today that I had best just surrender my resistance and do some more new things, lifestyle changes.

    I can do this.

    see you tomorrow !

  • 01:03:11 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

    I believe you … :D

I have retrieved a couple of passwords. I need to download something on my phone, and I needed my gmail address to do it. DANG LIFE GOT COMPLICATED … :D

    see you later. Be good.

  • 12:47:09 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

okay, I have just blocked a couple of time sucking apps on facebook. I feel liberation. Sheesh!

now I have to call medicare, find out how much postage is to UK, write card to nephew. check the Kroger weekly ad. Excavate the desk. Again … :D

  • 12:41:05 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

yeah, those store charge cards … some places still have them, and promote them.

When I was clearing out sm’s things, I shredded beaucoups. Burdines, Belk, Macy’s, a wide selection of others.

    Charg-a-plates !! it was a new concept.

remember those clunky machines and the 3-part forms you had to put in them to run a charge? Oh man, I did a lot of that in my time … working in the office at the school, and running the registration table for my sangha when Shifu was giving a teaching or a gathering. Yup. I was good at it. :)

  • 12:36:51 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

that nude picture problem has been around as long as cell phones could take pictures (longer, actually, but now it’s a pandemic)

  • 12:31:14 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

it could have been worse, flute.

there could have been more zeros at the end … :(

still, that is a chunk for anyone

    yikes.

  • 12:25:22 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

many, many very intelligent people have been caught in a phone cc scam and lost money. It’s very easy to say “how could they …”

member of my extended family was awakened by a phone call one morning (this is the story as she told me, and she’s not very linear, and she may be getting that memory problem that may run in her family) and a man demanded that she turn on her computer.

without thinking to ask who it was, or why (the guy may have said, but she did not communicate that part clearly) she did so. And that gave the guy access to her bank account. As soon as the bank opened she was in there, and she said the bank officer (or teller, I dunno, she’s pretty fuzzy normally, and there was not much clarity in her retelling) said “Oh, yes, we’re watching him in there right this minute …”

she didn’t actually lose anything; I don’t know if they caught the guy. She said the bank gave her a $2500 Visa gift card to make up for it. I guess she got hacked somehow … I just don’t know the real details.

And then within about ten days, she lost her wallet.

I have in the past worried greatly about her, but she has close relatives, including sons, and she’s Not My Problem. When we were talking about this little episode, I heard certain phrases many many times, and not much clarity.

Scared the heck out of me, mostly on her behalf. “Well, why did you …” “I wasn’t awake yet! I was groggy …”

I know there is more to it than she was able to tell me. I suppose it’s time to give her a call, but it’s going to have to wait until Friday. I have things of my sm’s to take to her … It’s always an ordeal.

  • 12:17:41 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

this is pretty personal, but how much is “a lot”? :(

  • 12:06:27 pm on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

it’s a tiny picture, all right!

things change, feelings change, people change, people move on, pass away …

it’s a lovely part of your life, soon to be part of your past.

  • 11:54:27 am on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

there is no picture to see you in, flute.
although I think you have posted that picture before. I remember your description of your brother’s contributions.

  • 11:52:14 am on March 8, 2017 | 0 | # |

    good mornings !

    hi there, yardbird !

oh, flute, yikes !! I hope he’ll get his money back … :(

  • 01:18:28 pm on March 7, 2017 | 0 | # |

so far I’m holding strong on the no-sandwich regime.

but I can’t let myself start thinking about it … :D

    see yuz later

  • 01:11:55 pm on March 7, 2017 | 0 | # |

    hi yardbird!

flute, I think that might have been a hard decision to come to, because you have so much history with that band. It sounds like you are taking care of doing what is best for you, though. And if your heart’s not in it, well … I support what decision you make for your own well being.

  • 01:09:54 pm on March 7, 2017 | 0 | # |

hey hey hey, good afternoons !!

sorry I’m so late. Linda my cleaner is here today, and I was doing other things until just now. I’ll read what flute left behind and come back later. :)

  • 08:07:06 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

and now good night. Se ey ou tomo rrow

  • 04:06:17 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

back for a few minutes, and then out with the dog.

not going to that link, thanks.

made appt for eval on thursday, and then off to my DO. Had a little lunch beforehand. I *did* indulge in fwied shwimp from the buffet. :)

then came home and refilled all the feeders. The golf cart made the little dog bark.

I am so glad Megan is back from her weekend away. I believe this new course of PT will get me walking better again, and Munch and I will be a pair of ramblin’ fools by late spring. ;)

  • 12:59:42 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

okay, I’m gonna go do that thing now. After lunch.

    Hi yardbird!

    see you all laterz

  • 12:46:11 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

how kind of your brother to take that responsibility. :)

  • 12:40:42 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

yes, sock stretchers are available, and they are things. I am trying to stop acquiring things. :D

    especially limited-use speciality items. :)

Maybe I’ll call Medicare after I get back. The appt won’t take more than an hour, chances are Medicare will … And I *can* make that phone call tomorrow.

  • 12:30:35 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

but first I have to call Medicare and talk about a claim. That could take hours … :D

  • 12:27:14 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

socks: nope, they are wool and spandex. Different colors, though. I am going to try soaking the shrunken ones in Mane & Tail conditioner and see if I can stretch ’em out.

  • 12:25:56 pm on March 6, 2017 | 0 | # |

    good afternoons !

I has a kind of casual appt to go see a rehab group this afternoon. I shall change jeans for leggings and trundle on up there, and I hope to get started this week.

  • 10:32:34 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

and now we is off to the beds. Last load of laundry in the washer, leggings in the dryer so I can wear some tomorrow.

knee socks air drying on a towel on Munch’s grooming bench. So, they are all the same brand. Why have some shrunk and some not, hmm? why?

  • 06:52:52 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

I know it is very very complicated, and at times simply intolerable for you. I am glad you have music. :)

I has Munchkin, who smells the meat cooking and wants some for dinner. I said yes. :)

  • 06:10:11 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

well, flute, then it’s up to you to go the hell down the freezer in the basement and get the veg you want for yourself. Maybe even put some in the upstairs freezer for convenience.

I mean … really. Sounds like you two blame each other for everything :(

  • 01:34:05 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

okay, gotta go. All the householdy stuff is done, except for switching out the laundry. I’ll do that after my call.

    See you later, flute !

  • 01:28:57 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

thawing a lamb roast the day of? Man, it takes me a couple of days to thaw chicken breasts for Himself !!

This is a non-lamb-eating household. And if you get to mention the peas and carrots multiple times, I also get to say we don’t eat the lamb (or any sheep), the piggies, the veal, the duck; the rabbit, the squirrel, the quail, the pheasant, the deer … We don’t have to. So we don’t. Others are an ethical choice.

  • 01:26:18 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

flute, you can buy veggies for yourself. Lots of variety in the frozen veg section in my Kroger; I bet it’s similar there. Smallish portions, even; you can steam ’em in the microwave.

  • 01:09:29 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

I forgot to turn up the heat this morning. It’s not literally freezing in here, but it’s cold. And I have a chunk of beast to put in the slow cooker …

  • 01:03:41 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

so flute catches all the flak. Sorry, flute. :(

  • 01:03:10 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

your talk about the Codfather, and now the Hogfather, has riled up a little craving for some foods I don’t eat anymore. Bread, and pigs.

ah well. Salad! I just love salad!! :D :D :D

and lots of veggies … yellow squash and roasted brussels sprouts today. Sprinkle some cheese on the sprouts; yum.

  • 12:50:35 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

hey hey yardbird ! how are you feeling these days? back at home livin’ the life you want?

  • 12:49:52 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

Most pharmacies can put a “no childproof caps” restriction on a patient’s file …

  • 12:44:16 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

Well, personally, I agree. Absolutely inappropriate behavior. In every way imaginable.

Can you say … “trailer trash”? Someone should slap her momma.

  • 12:38:52 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

In a little while I need to get offline and call my brother. He *may* understand why my Mac is doing something, or rather not doing something. He will talk me through a possible fix, although I could probably figure it out myself. He over-explains a lot, but somewhere in the knowitallness are real and valuable pockets of information and knowledge.

  • 12:35:12 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

yeah, that picture, which apparently was taken out of the context of the entire event, has been a hot topic around the world. Has created lots of reaction, from scathing to vicious. I haven’t read any support.

  • 12:21:37 pm on March 5, 2017 | 0 | # |

    good afternoons !

I was busy. 2nd load of laundry in, though, and the rest is sorted for the assembly line process. ;)

I think I just don’t understand the drive to survive no matter what. Evolution would fail if everything were left to me. :)

I probably AM an evolutionary failure in some ways. I am not going to think about that, though. Not now. It’s almost bed time.

How’s mr flute feeling? I hope the pain level will lessen quickly and the healing continue apace.

I just watched the movie WarGames again, for the umptieth time. Matthew Broderick plays a teenager who is trying to get free advance game downloads, and accidentally hacks into NORAD. Chaos ensues, all is well.

the computer, WOPR, code name Joshua after the inventor’s dead son, finishes the scenario with the suggestion that “the only way to win is not to play”

however, with so many millions of aggressive fear-driven us-and-them ers running things, mostly men, YES, MOSTLY MEN !!! … the ‘big countries’ are always going to play the game, also the wannabes. And North Korea. Not Bhutan, though. :)

the cable networks are full of post-apocalyptic, dystopian, post-alien, zombie, plague, and other survivalist scenarios serieses (I know, that’s a gratuitous ‘es’ :D ).

there is a lot of money in fear.

    you’re welcome.

another way we (collectively, as a species) have figured out to destroy strangers, ’cause, you know, if they are not us, they are dangerous.

    they’re not hard to use … :D

    but sometimes ignorance is bliss.

I am going to go put some turkey breast into my salad. The dog will go nuts. :D

Oh, my knee recovery is fabulous. However, it has highlighted back issues. I had back surgery when I was 20 and it has left a permanent disability. I have a new Rx for that issue.

But that knee … my surgeon is impressed2

  • 02:55:23 pm on March 4, 2017 | 0 | # |

hello to yardbird, who’s probably gone again but may see this tomorrow.

I have a salad waiting for me in the kitchen, and I’ll be taking it into the living room, or maybe the dining room.

there’s a Columbo marathon on Hallmark channel today. EEEEEEEEEeeeeee !!!
Some of those episodes are great, and some are just, I think, for the actors to have a good time, and don’t make much sense otherwise. Saw one last night, from a different channel, with William Shatner. People acting with Peter Falk and having a good time. I didn’t see this when I was a youth, back in the ’70s, seeing these for the first time, but I see it now. And mostly enjoy it. :)

First load of laundry for the day is in the washer. I have two waiting in the bedroom; I should drag that basket across the house before I sit down and have lunch …

  • 02:45:05 pm on March 4, 2017 | 0 | # |

    good afternoons !!

We are sans Megan this weekend, so everything is happening at least an hour later than our usual schedule. And the morning outing was longer. But I couldn’t walk Himself as far as he wanted to go; besides, there was a loose dog wandering in the yards down the street, and I definitely did not want to go there.

Cold and sunny. Now getting a little overcast.

good to see you, flute!! hope you got enough sleep after your WFH !! (week from heck)

  • 07:03:16 pm on March 3, 2017 | 0 | # |

well, I’m clocking out for the evening. See you Saturday morning sometime! or early afternoon … no Megan tomorrow, so I’m on Munchkin duty alllllllllllll the day. ;)

  • 10:36:28 am on March 3, 2017 | 0 | # |

    good mornings !

flute is off at her music festival, and mr flute is in the care of the brother of flute. I hope all is going well for all beings.

AND HI THERE YARDBIRD, when you come in! We just had a tiny little snow flurry here in my microclimate of Roanoke County. :)

  • 11:53:59 am on March 2, 2017 | 0 | # |

I wonder if flute remembered to take the music off the doorknob.

    :D

  • 01:18:34 pm on March 1, 2017 | 0 | # |

lunch, I was just thinking about it. I think I’ll wander off and get me some. Won’t be back in here to eat it … I eat in front of the TV or in the dining room.

so, see you later, flute! I have a big salad I need to work on. ;)

have a great afternoon, and good luck with the answering machine.

    and a pre-emptive stipulated HELLO YARDBIRD !! ;)

  • 01:13:51 pm on March 1, 2017 | 0 | # |

did you try calling that number from your cell phone yet, to see if it picks up?

  • 01:09:39 pm on March 1, 2017 | 0 | # |

does your printer program have the option to “save as PDF”? That’s what I sometimes do when I am having trouble printing.

I personally do not think that website page was designed to be printed from a phone …

  • 12:56:18 pm on March 1, 2017 | 0 | # |

my phone system, inherited, has a built in answering machine. I turned off the voice mail feature. All I get there is calls from robots and occasionally from family, but the family all have ringtones that say “answer this one” :D

I thought maybe that client’s message meant the answering machine was full.

  • 12:22:04 pm on March 1, 2017 | 0 | # |

ah, flute gets to collect the messages now !! and whack the answering service!! :D

  • 12:14:21 pm on March 1, 2017 | 0 | # |

I’m tickled. A friend is lending me her Netflix password. I have the app loaded on my satellite TV program already.

I’ll at least try it out on her dime. I have been generous with that couple, and I know she’s happy to return some generosity. I’m on their family profile now. :)

  • 11:41:23 am on March 1, 2017 | 0 | # |

    I’ll check back.

    good mornings !

well, of course they are to hold gas, but gas for what? do you refill the car tank from them? just curious. :)

I am getting bad gateway error 502, and I don’t feel like struggling today. So once I get this to go through, I might go work on my book shelves. :)

  • 08:04:29 pm on February 28, 2017 | 0 | # |

  • 06:24:11 pm on February 28, 2017 | 0 | # |

    hi there yardbird!

Well, I went to Kroger and got my $9 worth of getting me to the next level of gas points. And twenty bucks beyond, because I discovered they DO have my peanut butter. Not now, though. Because I think I bought the last 2 jars. ;)

time to feed my birthday boy. See you later maybe, or later. :D

  • 11:14:06 am on February 28, 2017 | 0 | # |

    I’ll see you later

  • 12:06:40 pm on February 27, 2017 | 0 | # |

    I do need green beans.

  • 12:01:43 pm on February 27, 2017 | 0 | # |

  • 09:11:19 pm on February 26, 2017 | 0 | # |

I’m gonna wander off. It’s been a busy day.

And dad’s shop is empty. My brother came up and got ALL the power tools and hand tools and miscellaneous other things. I invited him to come and take what he wanted. Definitely at least 5 figures worth of tools. It will help him continue to feel close to my dad, and that’s cool.

I didn’t let him take the shop vac. With that, I will be cleaning up after the mice. :D

I have never seen that room empty. Brother sort of left it in a mess when he was up a couple years ago, and I made it a little bit messier looking for stuff.

We are missing an item. I may have given it to the nephew. I hope so.

    see you tomorrow, maybe !~

  • 08:52:15 pm on February 26, 2017 | 0 | # |

I think you’ll reach your crescendo on March 3, collapse on the 4th, and have a day of rest on Sunday. Unless, of course, post-surgical mr flute is being difficult … uh oh … :?:

  • 08:28:34 pm on February 26, 2017 | 0 | # |

odd coincidence, flute: I’ve been listening to Dudamel’s recording of those Symphonic Dances on YouTube off and on for at least a week now. With, of course, that fabulous Youth Orchestra. :D

  • 08:18:41 pm on February 26, 2017 | 0 | # |

you seem to visit that place pretty often, awesome relaxation, Mme Lighterlady! glad you’ve found something you like so much.

Munch wanted to go out, so we did that, and then he went to bed. I have the Oscars set to record, with an extra half hour at the end, because I ALWAYS miss the end … it ALWAYS runs over. :D

  • 07:41:28 pm on February 26, 2017 | 0 | # |

hey yardbird! you feeling better? hey lighterlady! you feeling better? hey flute! you feeling better?

  • 12:57:53 pm on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

I am thinking too much about some stuff … the cure for that is keeping busy, getting done the things I don’t have to think too much about.

    like the kitchen. :D

and clearing off the bed in the spare room … :)

  • 12:56:21 pm on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

okay, I have to go do stuff … my brother will be here in a couple of hours.

  • 12:45:28 pm on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

that’s why we should all have a living will. And a DNR. Which some will ignore, anyway, if it goes against THEIR principles.

It’s a complicated thing, being alive in a culture of so many different attitudes and beliefs.

I think that’s where writers come in as so valuable, to spotlight, highlight, investigate these conflicts.

  • 12:38:15 pm on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

“right to die” is one of those hot button topics. Probably always will be. I think people should be free to make that choice, but there is a huge wall of resistance. As if quantity of life were better than quality. *ptui*

  • 12:36:40 pm on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

A human can make a choice.

A dog cannot, not in the same way, unless it crawls off into the bushes to die. Which many do. Also cats.

Our domesticated companions are at our mercy.

  • 11:58:21 am on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

    hi there, yardbird!

it’s fixin’ to storm out there … my lawn mowing guy just came by and when I was at the door with him, Munch wandered out and got his nose in the wind for a while. ;)

  • 11:57:02 am on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

Yeah, probably. Because life can be sudden. I’m 98% sure I will.

I’m going to carry a card in my wallet in case something happens to me while I am away from home, saying to notify Megan. And if that something is that I am dead, she will notify my older brother, who will come get Munch.

I hope I outlive him, and I hope he just keeps going until he stops. ;) I hope I do not have to face the choice of killing him (“putting to sleep” and euthanasia are euphemisms) because that would create conflict. What if he had not reached that ultimate moment of understanding in his life? It’s a Buddhist way of seeing things …

He stayed here because of me. Prednisone almost killed him. I asked him to stay. That was about 6 or 7 years ago, I think. The next day he was suddenly better, and I mean miraculous. Possible coincidence. Possible soul response.

  • 11:42:35 am on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

    hi, flute!

I hadn’t seen that particular article, but it describes the way I live with and care for Munchkin. That’s why he had a wellness check a couple of weeks ago, and will have another in 6 months. I am alert to his behavior, his moods and rhythms. I will probably outlive him, and I am preparing for that by just living a good life with him, and making sure I give him as much as I can.

Although if you ask him, he will tell you I don’t take him outside often enough, for long enough. :D

  • 11:38:46 am on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

not just that, but also decades of training in so-called “alternative” medicine, and observation of the wacked out money-driven big-pharma focus of a lot of western “health care.”

  • 11:12:57 am on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |

I’ve got doctor phobia, too. Comes from years of not being able to afford to see one, and being uninsured.

However, getting older, there are some things to check out. I don’t really like my GP, who is an internist. She is okay, but my surgeon is actually a better doctor, I think, more open minded.

I just hate venturing into the maw of the health care system. But there’s something I have to check out, dammit. Ah well. ;)

my brother is coming in a few hours. There are a few things I want to have done before he gets here, and the rest just won’t get done. I live like this.

  • 11:09:20 am on February 25, 2017 | 0 | # |
